A few days into the COVID-19 social distancing, I started going a little stir-crazy. Most days I work from home, but I usually go to a coffee shop to work. And I also run errands during the day. But not leaving the house is a lot. Since we are all going to be stuck at home for the foreseeable future, I came up with some things to keep us sane.
Learn A New Skill
We all talk about how we want to learn to new language or try a new recipe but we never seem to have enough time. Now we basically have so much free time, so go ahead and learn that new skill. I’ve been try to practice my French on Skillshare. I absolutely love Skillshare. They basically have a class on just about everything. You can get 2 months of Skillshare Premium for FREE right here!
With the gyms closed, we are all now working out from home. Working out is also a good way to keep us sane since it creates endorphins that make us happy. There are so many great free at home workouts you can do! I love doing the Blogilates workouts and every month she creates a monthly workout calendar. Here is March’s if you’re interested (PDF image has links to the videos). Cassey also created a 14 day quarantine workout plan. I also use the Aaptiv app, however you have to pay for it. But you can try it out for 30 days for free!
It’s been awhile since I’ve actually read a book and I used to be such an avid reader too. Now I’m still reading fan fiction but most probably don’t consider that reading. I finally purchased the latest book from a series that I’ve been reading it and I’m enjoying it immensely.
Deep Clean & Declutter
Now that I have more time, I’ve been going through a lot of my stuff to get rid of and doing a major deep clean. As you know I have pets so there is always pet fur. I’m also wiping down every and all surfaces.
Now we may not be able to go places but that doesn’t mean we can’t go outside. Go for a walk around the block, sit outside if it’s warm enough. Play with your dog if you have one. Just make sure to practice social distancing.
Binge TV Shows
Now this isn’t something I’d recommend doing all day, everyday but it’s still nice to sit down and binge some TV’s shows you been meaning to watch or even rewatch. Some of my favourite binge worthy shows include Schitt’s Creek, Gilmore Girls, Orphan Black, Instant Star, Parks and Rec.
Stay safe everyone and don’t forget to wash your hands.
