Top Clean Beauty Lipsticks
Did you know the average woman eats 7 pounds of lipstick in her lifetime? When it comes to heavy metals in cosmetics the number one heavy metal in lipsticks is lead. Lead causes brain and development issue in children and also serious issues in adults, including neurological effects, reproductive toxicity, high blood pressure, and thyroid disfunction. The FDA has set limits for the amount of lead in colour additives but has not set a limit on how much lead can be in cosmetics. Kinda scary right? Well don’t worry because I have rounded up some of my favourite top clean beauty lipsticks!
This was my very first clean beauty lip stick when I made the switch. It’s basically a lip balm and lipstick in one. Super nourishing with the perfect amount of colour. I love that these are also buildable if you want a darker look. The colours I have are “Shell Shock,” “Arabian Nights” and “Baby O.”
Like the tinted lip conditioner, the lip sheer is super hydrating while adding a sheer wash of colour to your lips. Also super buildable as well. There is also a natural hint of vanilla. The colours I currently have are “Terra” and “Poppy.”
This lipstick is super pigmented and I love how long the colour lasts. It doesn’t dry out my lips but isn’t as hydrating as the lip sheers. There is also a little hint of peppermint. Colours I have include “Brunch”, “9 to 5”, and “BC Red”.
This is a super creamy, and pigmented. It has a combination of jojoba, castor and sunflower oils. I have the colour “Damsel.”
There are so many other brands that I want to try! I love RMS Beauty but have not tried their lipsticks yet. It’s definitely on the list of lipsticks to try though. Same with Jane Iredale. Love the brand but have not tried the lipsticks yet. Chantecaille is also a great clean beauty brand but I have yet to try anything from them as well because it is pricy.
