I don’t know about you but I am always trying to declutter. It seems like such a hard job to do and can take forever. But there are 5 things that you can easily remove from your house that will make it look less cluttered. Your house will feel so much cleaner afterwards too!
Declutter: 5 Things to Remove
I don’t know about you but whenever I got a pretty box from Birchbox or someplace else, I would keep them thinking I could then re-use them. Well that has never happened except the time I made a kleenex box. Most of them are just lying around probably never going to be used. So unless you are using them for storage, get rid of them!
I hate sponges! They are a petri dish for germs. If you use them, toss them every week. I prefer dish rags and change them daily.
If you’re like me, you probably have a pile of unopened mail sitting in your house. Set aside some time and go through it. Toss (actually recycle) what you don’t need.
This probably also counts as mail but I always take my magazines out of the mail and set them on a coffee or end table to look through while I’m watching TV. I get so many magazines! And a lot of the time I forget about them and it’s months later before I even take a peak. Then there are the ones that I’ve kept for years. I have a very old copy of Seventeen with Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel. Will I ever look through that again probably not. I do actually have it stored away so I’m keeping that for now. But if you know you’re never going to look through them, RECYCLE!!
You don’t want to know how many Tim Hortons receipts I have lying around. Nor do I want to add together the totals. If you have some lying around and you don’t need them for tax purposes, get rid of them. Plus I just found out that receipt paper contains BPA which is an endocrine disrupting chemical that can be absorbed through the skin! YIKES!
I wish you all the best luck in your declutter process!
