Tips For Glowing Skin During Winter

Winter can be tough, especially when it comes to our skin. The cold weather can result is dry, irritated skin that can crack and even bleed. Besides just moisturizing, you need to counteract all these effects to get beautiful glowing skin during these frigid winter months.

Tips For Glowing Skin During Winter

glowing skin1. Drink Lots of Water

Drinking water is a tip for healthy skin no matter what time of the year it is. Our skin needs to be hydrated from the inside out. If you don’t want to drink a cold glass of water, you can have a warm water with lemon. You can even add a little bit of honey too!

Also, you can get water by eating foods that have it high in content, such as kiwi, watermelon, apples, celery, cucumbers, etc. Also make sure you’re getting enough vitamin c and zinc which will help with the production of collagen and elastin.

2. Wear Sunscreen

I cannot stress enough the importance of sunscreen. I wear it everyday. The sun in the winter is just as dangerous as the sun in the summer. My DziaDzia and a couple aunt’s got skin cancer spots on their faces from being in the ski patrol for so many years. I recommend a sunscreen that has at least 20% zinc oxide. I’m really liking ThinkBaby.

3. Hydrating Face Masks

Hydrating face masks can be used to add the much needed moisture our skin needs. There are so many good hydrating face masks you can buy, like this plumping one or this overnight mask from Kiehl’s. You can also go the DIY route and make one out of honey, avocado, yogurt, and oils such as olive, jojoba and almond.

4. Exfoliate

Moisture cannot get to our skin if there is a layer of dead skin cells. Exfoliating help removes all the dead skin. Find one that also has nourishing properties as well. This Dual Enzyme Polish by Colleen Rothschild looks really good. Make sure to use a good moisturizer afterwards.

5. Change Your Cleanser

If you don’t already use a moisturizing cleanser, I’d recommend using one during the winter months. Using one will help add moisture to your skin. I really love Beautycounter’s Cleansing Balm and I really want to try Colleen Rothschild’s Radiant Cleansing Balm. This nourishing cream cleanser is made with coconut oil and aloe to help with hydration.

I really hope you find these tips beneficial! I know how harsh the winter months can be on our skin and I want everyone to have radiant skin!
