When it comes to doing my makeup, there are times when I do my makeup slightly different to make it last. It’s usually when I know I am going to have a very long da, like a photo shoot, or an event. I’ve worked with enough makeup artists, that I’ve learned quite a few tricks along the way. Here are some of these tricks to get your makeup to last.
Exfoliate
The key to get your makeup to last starts way before you even apply. It starts with your skincare. Exfoliating your skin to remove all the dead and flaking skin allows the product to sink in and stay out. I’m currently using this exfoliant.
Primer
Applying a primer creates a barrier for your makeup to stick to and helps make it long lasting. They also help fill lines and pore to help you look flawless.
Apply Light
Most think that piling on will make it last longer. Contrary to belief, it’s the opposite. You want light layers otherwise it will fall off in layers.
Finish/Set
Once you finish, apply a finishing or setting spray. Just a little spritz keeps everything in place. After it dries, apply a light layer of translucent finishing powder.
Bring The Essentials
It’s always a good idea to bring a few essentials with you. These could include your translucent powder, a beauty sponge, your lipstick and maybe your foundation.
