Weekend Notes Partie Onze

Image originally from this post.

Happy Friday everyone! I cannot believe how fast summer is going by. Can you believe my last weekend notes post was back in June? Seems like a lifetime ago.

In case you don’t follow me on Instagram, I thought I’d share was is going on in my life.

Ballet

A few weeks ago, The Community House in Birmingham, fired our ballet teacher, claiming they are going in a new direction. First of all, the summer session had only started a few weeks prior. Next, they changed our adult class in the Fall to only 45 minutes and no pointe.

The first week without Renee, our sub who claimed she is trained in ballet. It was the worst class in my life. It was BAD.

This Tuesday, we had our new official teacher. She comes well trained and was shocked at how advanced our class is. She is upset about the 45 minute class in the Fall and plans to change it for the winter session. Granted, I think no one is signing up for the Fall session based on how short the class is. We shall see how this plays out!

Cousins

Today, I get to see my little cousins Will and Alex. I used to talk about them a lot on here. Over a year and a half ago they moved to Florida because my cousin, Matt, got a promotion. I’ve only seen them twice since they moved. I’ve practically raised them and was at the hospital when they were both born.

Anyways, I am so excited to see them. My mom, Jodie and I are taking them to Tim Hortons(no shock there). We basically got them addicted to timmies at a very young age. They get ‘kid iced capps’ aka smoothies, frozen lemonade, etc.

Then tomorrow, my mom and I are babysitting them and some other kids (6 total) while the parents go out and catch up.

Port Austin

Sunday, I think we are finally going to Port Austin and kayaking to Turnip Rock. I know I mentioned I was going in the last weekend notes but the weather turned out being too cold that weekend. And of course any other weekend we talked about going, the weather was crappy. Keep your fingers crossed for nice weather.

I’m not quite ready for summer to be over. There are so many thing I still want to do. But I am happy about fall. I always seem to have mixed feelings.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. Do you have anything exciting planned?

I hope everything works out with ballet! It’s unfortunate that something you love has to be negatively impacted by someone else’s incompetence!

Family time is special time! Sounds like you had a lovely mix of life’s best things- passions, family and travel!

Shorter ballet classes are such a bummer, specially when you spend most of the time stretching out. I hope they rethink that change so people can still go 🙂

    • Our new teacher is very good and she is working very hard to fix the time for the class in the fall. She understands as adults we do not want a 45 minute class.
